Open the pages of When Danger Calls, and step into an action-filled journey you can’t escape. Terry does an amazing job of storytelling. Her characters are well rounded, emotional, and flawed in a captivating sort of way. Their unpredictability and change keeps you guessing what lies just ahead. There is never a dull moment and the tension builds from start to end. There are some open sexual descriptions, done in a gentle yet intimate manner.
It’s like Barbie meets Wolverine. Two totally different worlds intertwine and sparks fly on all levels. A small-town school teacher and an international terrorist fighter encounter each other in the local hospital. Ryan Harper’s father was injured and Frankie’s mother had a health scare. Distraught and exhausted, Ryan holds his head, elbows on his knees. Tears threaten and his trembling hands wipe angrily across his cheeks. Frankie sees his distress and offers her help. Ryan tries to shut her out, but finds comfort in her gentleness. A favor is extended and the consequences for all are beyond imagination.
A backdrop of vast Montana splendor, family challenges, and international surprises sends Ryan Harper on an emotional rollercoaster. When Frankie and little daughter Molly manage to reach his heart, he loses clarity and focus. When she asks for his assistance, he returns the good deed, but it’s more than he bargained for. Just by association, mother and daughter become part of the dangerous international picture, their lives in danger. Ryan must detach for their safety. But is it too late? What are the chances? The odds appear to be against them–or are they? Who is to be trusted?
When Danger Calls is a great read, especially for the adventurer with a romantic heart. The gauntlet of emotions will leave you breathless. I was hooked from the first page, closing the book was not an option.
