We live in a world where dating, courting, hanging out, living together, or just having sex is common among unmarried couples. In Undressed, Jason Illian attempts to expose the naked truth about relationships.

I wasn't real sure what to expect with Undressed. Jason Illian gained national attention when he appeared on the reality game show The Bachelor and said something along the lines of "his body isn't a carnival ride." So I was kind of expecting a book that promoted the Judeo-Christian idea of waiting until you are married to have sex.

Unless I misread the book--that is not what Mr. Illian believes at all. In fact, he kind of poked fun at that idea. Using the Bible to try to support his beliefs, the author tries to explain that if you are planning on marrying someone, then it's okay to have sex, even if you break up two weeks later.

Some of the book is written like someone wrote in a letter and he answers it. In that section, he does give some good advice. Like if you are giving him your body now, don't expect him to give you a ring. He won't respect you.

All in all, the book is well-written and good. I do have issues with the "it's okay to have sex before you're married" parts, but then I'm a rather conservative Christian. This book would fit in well with the world's view of how long someone should wait to have sex, if they want to wait. The book is rather pricey, but I think it's because of who wrote it.
