Called a mix between The Dirty Girls Social Club and Under the Tuscan Sun, Jessica Morrison's debut novel, The Buenos Aires Broken Hearts Club, certainly doesn't disappoint as a beach read--especially since it's set in South America!

The novel tells the story of Cassie Moore and begins on the day that this very organized, very perfect twenty-eight-year-old loses her "perfect job" as an assistant producer at IdealMatch.com, finds an eviction notice posted the front door of her "perfect apartment" and finds her "perfect fiance" in bed with his ex-girlfriend. After her friends console her at a Seattle bar, Cassie wakes up to discover that she's booked herself a six-month trip to Buenos Aires in order to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and reorganize her "Life Plan."

I won't tell you that she doesn't know a word of Spanish--or how she pays for her ticket--but because she's already e-mailed her travel plans to everyone she knows, there's no turning back.

Of course, once she arrives in Buenos Aires, Cassie is enchanted by the city, her friendly landlady Andrea, the handsome handyman Mateo, the even more dashing Antonio, and her new American friend Dan, a Boston resident who's also on vacation and fits perfectly into the new "Life Plan" Cassie's written for herself. Cassie meets Dan and a host of other lovelorn travelers at a local bar, and together they form the Broken Hearts Club.

With the help of her new friends and some slow Argentine time, Cassie begins to realize that neither life nor love fits into a calculated spreadsheet. At first she doesn't want to admit it, but eventually Cassie begins a new career, establishes a new family and runs into the arms of the man of her dreams.

Armchair Interviews says: You will celebrate with Cassie as she discovers her new love and her new life.
