This is an awesome book for travelers or dreamers, as a good read or as a guide...at $20 it's a steal! It's not the kind of travel guide you'd take along on a trip, but one to start you dreaming and confirm your choices before you go.

The 10 Best of Everything is divided into two parts.

Part One: Just the Best
Sports - venues, events and tours.
Places - architecture, markets, museums, gardens, inns, parks...
Products - beer, watches, cameras, luggage, wine, perfume...
Travel - modes, means and methods.
Things to Do On A Sunday Afternoon - in various cities around the world. My personal favorite section!
Food - from coffee to ice cream and the places that serve them.

Part Two: The New Grand Tour
Literary and Historical Journeys - 20 classic adventures.
Lande's Famous List - hotels and resorts and their unique qualifications that got them into this book.

Don't misunderstand; this isn't a book of lists, but a book of listings accompanied by commentary, background information, practice advice, personal stories and plenty of quirky, but interesting history. The authors have included phone numbers, Web sites and addresses so the reader can do more research if they choose. It has great graphics, is color coded by category, and easy to read.

If you're on my Christmas list you might want to wait to buy this book --it's going to be my signature gift this year!

Armchair Interviews says: Lucky people on that list as this book is a winner.
