It’s been exactly a year since Laurel’s twin sister, Honor, died mysteriously. Laurel returns to Ireland from the United States to find the answers to her many questions about her sister’s tragic death. While she is in Ireland for Honor’s memorial service, Laurel encounters a messenger from Faerie. She learns that in order to save Honor, Laurel must find the Summer King and he must light the Midsummer Fire.
Honor believed in Faerie, while Laurel was skeptical. Now Laurel is not so sure that she was correct. She has her sister’s journal and enlists the help of Ian, a bad boy, and together they will save Faerie and thus save Honor.
Laurel’s quest takes many twists and turns. It is a journey that requires strength of character and a loyalty that demands faith and determination for some along the way are not who they seem to be, plus there are old secrets and anger that must be quenched.
O.R. Melling spins a compelling and fascinating tale. It’s rich in mythology, geography, suspense, romance and gives the reader a heroine who is worthy of the name. The Summer King is fantasy at its best.
Armchair Interviews says: A must read. And we suggest to buy The Hunter’s Moon and The Light Bearer’s Daughter also.
