Jesus often taught in parables, or stories, when he had something to teach those who gathered to listen. One story he told was about a lost sheep that the shepherd dropped everything to find. Jesus used this story to demonstrate how God and heaven rejoice when a sinner returns to him. It is logical, then, that the parable of the lost sheep is retold in a simple format for children so that they might also easily understand.
This is a nice little adaptation of the parable of the lost sheep. It is told in language easy for the kiddos to follow and isn’t bad as a read aloud. The illustrations are soft and colorful with plenty to look at even if all the reader can do is page through it.
If you are looking for simple retelling of common bible stories, this Bible Story Time series is a great place to start.
Armchair Interviews agrees.
