For those who mourn the end of the Star Wars film saga, there is hope. The novelization of the story continues the excitement. James Luceno's Star Wars Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader is a wonderful addition for any Star Wars fan. The story begins right after Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.

Darth Vader's turn to the "dark side" and survival of the dual on Mustafar, is the figurative death of Anakin Skywalker, who was the "chosen one," and is the rise of consummate evil in the form of Darth Vader.

Vader is called upon by Emperor Palpatine to rid the Republic of what he terms as the "traitorous Jedi." Thus begins the current struggle of good vs. evil.

On the Outer Rim, during the final hours of the Clone Wars on Murkhana, word of Anakin's slaughter of his comrades and Masters in the Jedi Temple has not reached the faraway place. Jedi Roan Shryne leads the attack on the Separatist forces, not knowing things have turned against them. They become the hunted following their narrow escape from Murkhana. They fear no one more than Darth Vader who becomes the hunter of his former comrades. There is much at stake and the Jedi must prevail or evil wins.

Armchair Interviews says: For a fast-paced read and a continuation of one of the best Science Fiction stories of all time, read Star Wars Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader. Luceno does a magnificent job of continuing the story, explaining things and filling in the blank spots of the film version.
