A personal story of life lived. The author narrates the struggle of her marriage to Jim, including their changing job situations and moves. Into their life enters a black lab puppy, Whimsey. She appears at their back door late one night. The couple already has a dog and dutifully looks for the owner or another home for Whimsey. Nothing works out and Whimsey becomes a part of their life and family.

After many years of struggling, events unfold which directs the couple to renew their faith. In the end, the author must lean upon those events, people, places, and things which have come into her life over the last few years, including her faith and a black lab named Whimsey.

Many events in the book were descriptions of mundane situations each of us face in our relationships with others. The majority of the book conveyed the history of a strained relationship, but there was not enough uniqueness or differences between events to carry the story for a full book length.

The events which unfolded were not surprising. The last few chapters of the book were moving and inspirational.

Rosanne Pellicane stepped out in courage to reach others who are going through difficult times.

Armchair Interviews says: May Roseanne and Whimsey give us hope for a better tomorrow.
