Rahkel Williams is single and living on her own. She is still living with the tragedy of losing her son to a car crash, her ex-husband to a shooting three years ago, and she’s healing mentally and physically from an abusive relationship. She works two jobs; one at a nursing home and the other for her uncle. She is really close to her Uncle Leon. A recovering drug addict and alcoholic, she sometimes sees objects and people when she looks at the clouds.

Things are going pretty well though, until the day Uncle Leon is murdered. Rahkel just can’t let it go because it is mysterious to her. Since the police have no real leads, she decides to do some digging of her own as well as hire her own investigator, Darrin Miller.

Rahkel soon finds herself falling in love and going on dates again after all these years. She feels younger and happier while she is seeing Darrin, until the police tell her some background information on Darrin. Now, she isn’t sure if she can trust him anymore.

More people are being murdered and Rahkel is trying to stay alive. She keeps digging for information and keeps getting closer to the truth. As it unfolds, lies are being revealed and people aren’t who they seem to be. She doesn’t know whom she can trust anymore.

As the clues come together, Rahkel wonders who her uncle really was. He doesn’t seem to be the person she always knew, loved, and trusted.

It is a race against the clock to find the clues and piece them together. Rahkel is starting to lose it. She needs to solve this before its too late and the killer gets her too.

Tinisha Nicole Johnson’s newest novel is a compelling, drama-filled, suspenseful mystery. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next. With all the twists and turns I would have never guessed the ending. It had a really good plot–and I fell in love with the characters.

Armchair Interviews says: If you like suspenseful mysteries, check this out.
