With the perfect blend of truth and grace, the authors tell the story of Alan Rockaway. Rockaway 'has it all' and justifies 'it all' thru the filter of his self interest and distorted perception of grace, having long ago abandoned God's Truth replacing it with Alan's Truth.
Pastor Rockaway is leading a group of married people from his 6,000-member congregation on a Marriage Enrichment cruise in the Caribbean. He's invited his estranged son, Jeff, a techno wiz, to accompany the group, hoping to reestablish their lost intimate relationship while documenting this elaborate retreat.
Jeff watches through the lens of his video recorder, providing live stream to the Sunday morning congregation in Denver. No sooner than the group embarks on a submarine ride, the sub is hit and sunk by a speeding boat that disables the sub. It traps the passengers and fatally injuring some of them, all the while this disaster is being broadcast to the congregation-- and soon to the sensation-seeking world.
Rescued isn't just a hold-your-breath thriller, it's also the story of redemption and grace, rescued from earthly dangers for the opportunity of redemption and the truth of God's ultimate judgment.
