I am privileged to call Arizona my home for half the year and thus am able to enjoy all the beauty and bounty this grand state has to offer. There is no doubt that one of the great wonders of the United States, and the world, as far as I'm concerned, is the Grand Canyon.
If you haven't seen the Grand Canyon in person, you're missing a truly awesome experience. You can visit this spectacular offering of nature through Stephen Trimble's and Northland Publishing's Lasting Light: 125 Years of Grand Canyon Photography.
This coffee table book is simply luscious and offers compelling and detailed profiles of twenty-three men and women who have photographed the scenic canyon. It is an intimate look at the relationship between the photographer and nature. The reader is also told about the equipment used by the individual photographers.
The photographs are breathtaking and are a constant reminder of the power and beauty of nature. No matter how many times I viewed the photographs, I was unable to choose any favorites. They all are unique. They all reach out, grab the reader's attention and demand an appreciation and respect for the Grand Canyon's beauty and the artists' talent.
Armchair Interviews says: For the nature enthusiast, or the lover of the magnificent beauty of the Grand Canyon, this book is the perfect gift. It will be cherished.
