(Historical romance)

Adela has dutifully agreed to an arranged marriage with Baron Ardelve, a man twice her age. Just before taking her vows, the ceremony is disrupted by the thundering hooves of intruders on horses. As a masked bandit boldly sweeps up Adela, her family believes Sir Hugo Robison has had the audacity to take her for his own.

Adela's sister, Sorcha, hopes to find the couple at the inauguration of Ranald of the Isles, head of the MacDonald Clan. Sorcha's fiery temper gets the best of her when the truth is revealed that Adela has indeed been abducted, when she attacks Sir Hugo for encouraging her to think he cared for her sister.

When the evil man's plan is revealed to use Adela as a pawn to steal the fabled Templar Treasure, Sorcha takes it upon herself to save her sister and disappears into the highlands.

Sir Hugo must find Sorcha and Adela before the treacherous plot unfolds. In hot pursuit he discovers that Sorcha's passionate nature is irresistible as he finds himself captivated even though he has bound himself in honor to marry Adela.

Amanda's ability to write ongoing family saga's relating to some of her most beloved characters is just one of the appealing reasons why she is well read. I am looking forward to her next book, Knight's Treasure.

Armchair Interviews says: Amanda Scott has written another satisfying romance to complement her collection of intriguing romance novels.
