Rather than Jesus and the Prayer this book should be titled, The Sermon on the Mount. Jesus teaching the people how to pray is only one page out of thirty. The other pages are: love your enemies, don’t worry, forgive others, and the story of the solid foundation.
My instinct on my first read through was that the book tried to do way too much for a simple little Bible story picture book. Once I took the title out of contention, though, I found that I really do like this little book.
It is a very simple telling of what is commonly known as the Sermon on the Mount that highlights only a select few topics. But it is a good writing of that which it covers. It also does teach the Lord’s Prayer word-for-word.
The illustrations are colorful and engaging and children will enjoy this book either as a read-aloud or as a self-reader.
Armchair Interviews says: Another nice addition to your little one’s library.
