When you're a child, it's not as easy as it looks. There are so many things that can interfere with life--every day things that kids have absolutely no control over. It's a Bad Day is a quirky and fun look at the trials and tribulations of a kid's life.
-- You know it's a bad day when people with big hair sit in front of you on the bus. There's no way you can see over or around them.
--It's also a bad day when you have to eat your vegetables before dessert, when the glue just won't stick (on anything but you), and when you're ill and can't go to a party, it's a real bummer.
--And it's a really bad day when your snowman melts and you're favorite tee shirt doesn't fit anymore.
There's more bad day experiences and children will laugh as they identify with bad-day experiences similar to their own. We all have bad days, but when it's over, we can look forward to tomorrow because tomorrow is a new day. How exciting is that?
I'd love to see a companion book to It's a Bad Day. How about a fun and quirky It's a Good Day?
Armchair Interviews says: Children are going to love the simple verse that is accompanied with colorful and silly illustrations.
