Toot and Puddle so look forward to Christmas, and plan to celebrate it together. Puddle busies himself at home in Woodcock Pocket, decorating the house, Christmas tree and baking Toot’s favorite fruitcake. Puddle wants to create a wonderful homecoming for Toot.
Toot must travel a long distance to spend the holiday with his family, and the winter weather is stirring up a roadblock. An ice storm delays his flight, and he is sure he’ll miss Christmas with his family. When he finally arrives in Boston all travel has come to a halt, the only way home is to hike in the snow. Just when Toot thought all was lost, a cheery stranger offers him hope.
