According to the press release, this is a reprint.

The story is simple and follows the children of many towns on their search for the "great war" or the two red stars that Uillame (pronounced Wee-Yam) was shown by a stranger. The kids trek across many lands to try to stop the wars before all the fathers, uncles, older brothers are gone.

This story was originally published during the era of the Vietnam War and now is being republished during the great war of our children's lives, the Iraqi War. War destroys families in more than just the loss of family members; it also destroys the hope of those surviving.

It is a fairly quick read, although I did stumble on the children's names--even with a few pronunciations throughout.

Armchair Interviews says: For ages 9-12, this middle reader or young adult book will make adults and children alike think about affects of war.
