Are you letting your age dictate your happiness and how you feel about yourself? It’s time to free yourself from society’s definitions and expectation of beauty.
Karzmer creates unique and playful messages using clipping from magazines and newspapers. She has assembled headlines, sidebars and quotes that she’s found to create powerful messages. The background pages have a watercolor painting feel to them–a mix of bold and soft primary colors and flowers embellish the page. This is a great backdrop for Karzmer’s words of wisdom.
After reading How Old Is Beautiful, I realized that age is just a number (only important when talking about wines, cheese and family pets). Our goals should be to keep dreaming, be open to adventures and cultivate our inner beauty. A quote that I enjoyed, because it sums up that life is a journey, was: “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.”
The author has advice for different age groups. If you’re in your 20s and 30s, remember to keep dreaming. If you’re in your 40s, then celebrate what you’ve learned. Be 50 and fabulous, be inspired by Oprah. Another message that made me smile, “What it comes down to is the first 80 years are definitely the hardest.”
I think this book would make a wonderful gift–-to yourself or any other woman that deserves to know how special she is. It’s not a very long book but you will definitely enjoy reading the messages. They are filled with warmth and humor. They might even become a personal mantra!
