When the all-girl school is threatened with losing its support because it didn't have a girls' softball team, the algebra teacher is quick to open her mouth and offer to rally a group of twelve girls together to get a team started. But the powers that be are not impressed. They don't want just warm bodies, they want a winning team.

With a mismatched bunch of girls who know more about shopping and fingernail polish than balls and bats, the prospects of this team doesn't look so good. Besides, they don't even have uniforms or equipment. And they are lacking four players. How will this team ever get put together in the two weeks left before softball season starts?

Hits & Misses 1
is the first book in the new series by Barbour Books and Real Buzz Studios. When I opened it up, I was surprised to see it written in comic book style, but the engaging pictures and dialogue made it easy to read in one sitting.

Written for girls ages 8 to 12, I wondered how my eleven-year-old daughter would like the book. She also enjoyed the story, and couldn't turn the pages fast enough. My daughter says this book is great and she's going to tell her friends about it.
