Have you reached the end of your rope?

Many of us are facing a hard time—bereavement, retirement, financial hardship, or worse. We may be wondering what God has in store for us, or if we are left in the wilderness, forgotten. Faith Enough to Finish will help restore your sense of purpose.

Life sometimes uses us for target practice, but author Jill Briscoe assures us that God is more than a match for whatever comes our way. Using the prophet Jeremiah, she shows us that God bears us up and finds us work.

The chapters include:

– God is God enough
– His plan in your life
– His strength for your days
– I am heard
– and much more

Some of the chapters are a bit on the long side (while others are very short) and most of the chapters include a section called Time Out – which are worksheets which can be used in church classes, groups, or for personal quiet time.

I didn’t have enough time in my day to read and understand a whole chapter in one sitting, so I had to break each chapter up into more manageable pieces. On my own, with my limited study time, the Time Out worksheets were a bit much. I think they would work much better in a small group setting, or in a class, than by a busy mother of five trying to squeeze in a moment here and a moment there.

All in all, I think that Faith Enough to Finish is a great book. It seems doctrinally sound, and is filled with lots to think about. I wish I had enough time to read a whole chapter in one sitting and actually understand what the author is saying. But even broken up in smaller chunks, it still gives us plenty to think about.
