Jude Reigner has been teaching yoga for ten years to children and adults alike, and in Easy Yoga, she brings the joy, wellbeing and relaxation of yoga to us all.
Easy Yoga contains a full-length, 45 minute Yoga session, which consists of 18 classic yoga positions, each of which focuses on strengthening, firming, massaging or relaxing different parts of the human body including the organs. Each position has clear step-by-step instructions, with a diagram detailing the position and outlining the areas of the body, which benefit from the specific position. With positions such as The Locust, which stimulates the liver, kidneys and intestines, helping to relieve indigestion and strengthening the lower back, and The Stork, which improves circulation to all organs and helps to relieve stress, every area of the body will feel the benefit of this Yoga Session.
There are also two 20-minute sessions in the book, each made up of 12 positions. One of these sessions is specifically tailored to energize, the other to unwind, so that whatever time of day it is, you can find a program to suit your needs.
The final two sessions in the book are 10 minutes long each, made up of 6 positions, and again, one is tailored to wake up your mind, body and spirit, while the other works to relax and let go of stress and strain.
This book is the perfect companion for anyone who is looking to explore the art of yoga, and is a perfect size for fitting in a handbag or briefcase, so that you can bring the joy of yoga with you wherever you go.
I found this an excellent book, with challenging but not impossible positions, which were very clearly explained step by step, with diagrams to assist. I can definitely feel the benefit of regularly doing the programs, and the 20- and 10- minute sessions are really great for busy people on the go with not much time on their hands.
