Having suffered a nervous breakdown after breaking up with her boyfriend, her mother's death and complications at her job, Averil Mathew's father suggested she spend some time cleaning out her recently deceased aunt's cottage in Williams Point, New Zealand.
Averil's first discovery is a love letter pointing to a relationship no one in the family knew of--and the possibility of Aunt Edith having had a baby. Averil makes the acquaintance of local mystery writer and part-time sleuth Rose Roundtree in order to help her sort out this mystery.
Together with the assistance of Rose's long time friend, Julian Wells, the three of them tackle the daunting task of sorting through a lifetime of accumulation and memories, finding clues to Aunt Edith's well-kept secrets and developing lifelong relationships for themselves.
This is a cozy read, nice characters involved in a mystery and romance, the only drawback is the overabundance of dialogue that didn't move the plot forward fast enough.
