Does the idea of evangelism leave you feeling inadequate or fearful? As lovers of Jesus, we should delight in telling others about him…but too often we’re afraid to bring up the subject around others.
In this devotional, Ms. Etheridge introduces us to New Testament believers to teach us how we can show our faith. We’ll learn that we don’t need to follow set rules, and we don’t need persuasive words.
With topics such as:
. Stand strong in the face of persecution
. Go where God sends
. Swim against the tide
. Influence a generation
. Give hope to the hopeless
. Be an encourager
plus many others.
The devotional starts out with a short portion of scripture to read, then a true life story, a bible story, then the application—applying what we learned to our own lives. There are plenty of lines to fill in the spaces for your own thoughts.
Completely Irresistible is the fourth in the 30-day guide to Loving Jesus series, and in the introduction the author suggests that reading the complete series in order will help you to maximize what you get out of it. I haven’t read the complete series, but since the author suggests this, I will agree with her. Reading them individually though does teach you things that you may not have known.
I think this is an excellent devotional and I like how short they are, making them ideal for a busy mom to pick up and read in spurts since life seems to interrupt quiet times (at least around my house!) And Etheridge brings out a lot of excellent points. I shared one with the women’s prayer group at our church, and the other women really had a “ah ha moment” with the devotional I shared.
Armchair Interviews says: Excellent devotional, especially for busy people.
