I grew up learning about my Christian faith in my family, my church, Sunday school and through books. We prayed prayers, recited the Apostles’ Creed and The Nicene Creed–and it was good.
I can’t remember when I last looked at, much less, voiced either of the Apostles’ or Nicene Creed. And I belong to a Biblically grounded church. So when I received Common Ground: What All Christians Believe and Why it Matters, I devoured it. I needed to remember, to be reminded, to learn again what my faith is about and why it matters to me and the world.
Christianity is being attacked by the world, including from within–and the question of ‘why does Christianity matter’ is being raised in the world and within the Church itself. How can we defend our faith if we don’t know what it means and why it exists?
Keith Drury writes a beautiful and easily understood book that explores, in depth, the meaning behind our Christian beliefs. It’s a must-have, must-read, reference book that should be in every Christian home.
