I love New York, especially at Christmas time. Every year we celebrate an early Christmas with our son (a working actor who isn't always able to come home for the holidays) in New York.
Chuck Fischer has created a work of art with his interactive pop-up book Christmas in New York. Fischer is New York City artist. He has designed gift-wrap for Caspari, china for Lenox and wallpapers and fabrics for Brunschwig & Files and F. Schumacher and Co. Many of his designs are housed in the Cooper-Hewitt Museum. He has authored two other pop-up books (The White House and Great American Houses and Gardens).
For all the people who love the traditions of the Rockettes and Radio City Music Hall, the lighting of the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, the Nutcracker, shopping on Fifth Avenue, and the lights of Times Square, this three-dimensional art book is the perfect gift. The individual pop-up scenes include brief histories, anecdotes and interesting facts in the removable booklets and pullouts.
When I opened this book I know my eyes grew wide and a broad smile covered my face. It is spectacular! It is delightful! It is delectable! It brings tears of joy to my eyes, as it's reminiscent of the New York traditions my son and I share yearly. I can't think of a more perfect gift for keeping and making the wonderful memories of Christmas in New York.
Armchair Interviews says: Christmas in New York must be seen to be believed. It's that spectacular!
