If you have a child who enjoys activity books, have I got the thing for you!
Carry Along Bible Activities is a small briefcase-like box full of activity books and felt-tip pens for children. There are four puzzle books that include dot-to-dots, hidden pictures, mazes, spot the difference and many, many more activities. There are also two Rub and See books which have “invisible” ink that shows part of the picture when you rub it with a coin (or, as my children discovered, color over it with one of the included pens). All of the books tell bible stories or allude to bible themes. The Rub and See books even provide the scriptural reference so that the kids can look up the complete story.
These books would be great for car rides, keeping children quiet during church services, busy during sporting events, doctor’s office waiting rooms, sitting at home—just about anything. I think these books are probably best for my 6 to 8-year-old crowd, as that is the level of complexity that doesn’t require much parental intervention, but my 4-year-old has greatly enjoyed them as well. Hint: let the older kids do the puzzles, then hand the book off to the youngsters to color the resulting pictures. They are also wonderful for a multi-child home as the books are each equally entertaining and arguments over books can be remedied by getting out another.
It would make a great gift or just provide Mom a bit of sanity when the kids need some entertainment.
Armchair Interviews says: Highly recommended if your child likes bible stories and puzzle books.
