This fictional novel is set in a futuristic America that has been divided in two segments. One of the sections is impossible to escape, by normal means, to gain access to the Outside; this is the America in which you will travel as the story unfolds.

Caitlyn, a very unusual young girl, a freak some would say, is stalked and hunted by a bounty hunter and a ruthless leader’s mercenary. Her salvation is in her papa’s hands–yet they are savagely separated in the early stage of their escape to the Outside. You know that something is special about Caitlyn, even unnerving, the magnitude of which is not revealed to the story’s end.

There are twists and turns throughout Caitlyn’s journey, as she struggles to stay ahead of the sadistic, maniacal killer who loves the sport of the chase and kill.

Befriended by a young tortured runaway boy, and another unlikely accomplice, Caitlyn discovers that those who she thought were sent to capture her are really set to take her to the point where she can escape.

Caitlyn is reunited with her father who holds a dark secret about her genealogy. This startling information leads her to a path of self-discovery and freedom, but distances her from her papa forever.

This science fiction page-turner takes you on swift and treacherous journey through a land where there is an odd mixture of the horse and buggy with high-tech tracking, surveillance, file and data sharing. People are not who they appear to be–and the surrounding countryside is a trap to keep outsiders out, and those inside in a well-designed, dangerous other world.

There are enough surprises and tense moments in this drama to keep you reading long after you should have turned out the lights.

Armchair Interviews says: A strong offering from this sci-fi author.
