Heidi Elliott is the typical want-to-have-it-all Gen-Xer. She has her husband, her baby, and soon she will be off maternity leave to go back to the job she loves. But matters get complicated when her wonderful husband spends an inordinate amount of time with his wealthy attractive client. Her daughter, well, she's sweet, but babies can be a little consuming. And that job she loves? Some of the appeal begins to wan as she begins the balancing act that is her life.

Heidi needs something, and it isn't her charming ex-boyfriend who just moved in far to close for comfort. But maybe the help she doesn't even know she needs will be found in the oddball Mom's Group she was tricked into attending.

Life changes dramatically for a woman once children are added to the mix. If her heart isn't guarded and grounded, life can really get out of control fast. In this excruciatingly poignant novel, Kimberly Stuart explores the challenges associated with motherhood and the resulting consequences of little choices that can make or break a family.

Although there are humorous moments and sassy self-deprecating humor, the majority of the story really makes the reader feel for Heidi--especially if the reader is in the throes of new motherhood.
