Subtitled: Praying with Power and Purpose

Who is in charge?

That question is behind all conflict here. It is at the heart of sibling rivalry, marital discord, and church disagreements. In this powerful book, Dutch Sheets reminds the reader, in sometimes humorous ways, that God is the one in control--and He wants His people to be "overcomers."

In the second chapter, Dutch Sheets tells a story illustrating how to take control of your private world. Dutch and his brother had rented a horse, which Dutch named Idiot, for a hunting trip. The story had me laughing out loud, but it made its point. You may not be able to control other people, animals, or events, but you can overcome!

God has established the principle of authority. God wants us to partner with Him on the earth through our prayers. Authority in Prayer will show you how to take hold of God's promises and pray with authority that God wants you to have.

The chapters are not long and are easy to read, but they pack a wallop. I had to go back and reread several parts so I could get what the author was saying. I'm not a pastor, but I could see several sermons coming out of each individual chapter.

My husband (who is a pastor) was really excited when he saw my review copy of Authority in Prayer lying on my desk. He asked if he could have it for his library when I finished with it.

I really think that Authority in Prayer is an invaluable reference tool for both pastors and church members. It should be in every church library.

Armchair Interview says: This is a wonderful book to teach us to take authority with prayer.
