Those that read our reviews, especially the cookbooks, know that I love to read cookbooks and don't like to cook. I admit to actually cooking with The Amish Quilting Cookbook. The recipes are appealing and so very easy. And yes, like all my cookbooks, the major requirement is that the recipes require ingredients even I have in my kitchen.
Beyond the recipes, I love quilting and so I enjoyed reading the stories the Amish women told about their quilting experiences. And the quilts themselves are luscious. I also enjoyed the tips at the end of the chapters. Who knew that our saliva contains an enzyme that neutralizes the proteins in our blood? And that to remove a bloodstain, moisten a cotton swab in your mouth and rub it on the bloodstain. It's gone!
Some of my favorite recipes are: Cinnamon Rolls (to die for!,),Sausage and Egg Casserole (great to make ahead and serve in the morning,),Shipwreck Casserole (there go the leftovers,),and the scrumptious Pumpkin Roll (my mouth is watering just thinking about it).
Armchair Interviews says: Experience beautiful quilts and stories and great recipes as 58 Amish quilters share 316 of their favorite dishes.
