Subtitled: Every Woman's Guide to Getting Her Man Where She Wants Him...and Keeping Him There.
Hmmm, that subtitle says it all. This book isn't really for "girls," but for women who are in or want to find the right guy to be in a relationship with.
Comic book-style illustrations with vivid color and bold layout make reading the advice a lot of fun.
This is the guide to good "right man" information your mother would give you--if she had better man luck herself. Maybe the book can "save you."
The chapter heads give you a good idea of what's ahead:
-- What do you want? Drawing up your list of essentials and desirables in a partner.
-- Who are you? Bringing confidence and high self-esteem to your relationship.
-- You sexy thing. Learning to get what you want in and out of the bedroom.
-- Lean on me. Finding a man who is there for you when you need him.
-- Managing his money. Making sure your guy's money works hard for you.
-- That's man's work. Getting your guy to lend a helping hand around the house.
While some of the suggestions may seem a little bit manipulative--well, how do many women really get what they want but by manipulation. Younger women will find this energizing presentation of information easy to understand and put into action--from dating to mating and training the right man right.
She asks women to think about this:
1. What are you like?
2. What is he like?
3. How do these two kinds of people go together--and should they?
In the end, the author reminds us successful relationships are about respect, being attentive to your needs and that of the other person. It's a two-way street. A well-managed man will be a good provider, helper, lover and husband/father--exactly what most women want and need.
Author Matthews is an award-winning journalist, features and woman's page editor and now she is a relationships counselor. She also wrote Lose that Looser and Find the Right Guy in 2004. Many of the illustrations are done by Keith Sparrow.
Armchair Interviews says: This book would be a good gift for women who are dating and maybe picking her lifemate.
