Christmas in New York City is like nothing you’ve ever experienced. The lights, the sounds and smells, the Thanksgiving Parade (which kicks off the season), the Christmas Tree in Rockefeller Center, Central Park, the color and animation in the store windows–to the dropping of the ball in Time Square on New Year’s Eve–it is like life on steroids.

New York at Christmas is beautiful. The people seem to laugh and smile more, are a bit more polite and the feeling is, well, it’s difficult to describe.

Along comes illustrator Michael Storries who is able to depict the essence of the Christmas season in New York in his book A Very New York Christmas.

Michael Storrings has captured dozens of New York scenes since 2003 when he began turning them into Christmas ornaments. In A Very New York Christmas, Storrings magically captures the sights of Christmas in his delightful watercolors. Each scene is accompanied by a small story or vignette. A Very New York Christmas will make a great Christmas gift for those who live in or are familiar with New York and those that are not. It’s magical.

Armchair Interviews says: It’s magical.
