Announcing: A new cozy mystery series with a mature female protagonist! Yeah! Melissa Glazer (Is this a pseudonym?) has created A Clay and Crime Mystery series where pottery studio owner Carolyn Emerson becomes embroiled in a murder.
Fifty-something Carolyn Emerson decided to take a late night visit to her pottery shop, Fire at Will, located in Maple Ridge, Vermont. She just wanted to check on the kilns. What she found was Betty Wickline’s body. Now Carolyn didn’t want Betty to die, she just didn’t like her very well. Oh, dear, she didn’t like her at all. And that’s a mild way of putting it. But some people, including Sheriff John Hodges, think Carolyn might actually have had something to do with the murder. Things are looking pretty grim for Carolyn.
Carolyn’s hubby of twenty-nine years, Bill, doesn’t want her to get involved with the investigation, but that doesn’t stop Carolyn. With the help of her friends/clients who call themselves The Firing Squad, and her assistant, twenty-year-old David (the son of her best friend Hannah), Carolyn is determined to find out who killed Betty and clear her name, even if she must dodge death herself.
This is one of the most fun romps into murder I’ve had in a long while. I was hooked after reading the first page. I snickered, laughed out loud and generally had a good time reading A Murderous Glaze. I enjoyed the plot, love the characters and I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I’m a fan.
Armchair Interviews says: Cozy up with A Murderous Glaze and enjoy murder vicariously.
