Audio Interview: Tim Dorsey, author of Hurricane Punch
Tim Dorsey Armchair Interview
Join Andrea Sisco as she talks with author Tim Dorsey about writing and his latest novel, Hurricane Punch. Dorsey has written nine novels and his tenth is coming out in early 2008.
Hurricane season is about to pound the life out of Florida. It seems a serial killer, or maybe two, is on the loose and if he or they are not caught soon, the body count will continue to rise.
Dorsey's loveable (ouch!) psychopath, Serge loves killing people, he just wants to kill those that truly deserve it. I guess that means he has some kind of moral compass. Serge has a short attention span, but is a walking/talking encyclopedia on all things Florida. And he loves chasing hurricanes.
But Serge is not responsible for the murders a certain newspaper is accusing him of committing and so he does what any self respecting murderer would do if wrongly accused; he and the serial killer send dueling letters to the editor.
Is Serge the killer? Is he so far gone he doesn't realize that he's been on the loose randomly killing folks? Is Agent Mahoney (recently released from a mental hospital for getting too far into Serge's head) going to get to stay out of the hospital? Or will his personality finally split from years of chasing Serge. Then there's Coleman, Serge's forever 'high' friend who just wants to stay out of jail and out of work.
Dorsey is brilliant! His edgy humor leaves nothing in society untouched by his quirky view of life. His novels are entertaining, raucous, pack a punch and leave the reader wanting more of his offbeat humor. Author's Web site: http://www.TimDorsey.com
